Born Sarah Rubinstein in Providence, RI, USA she now lives with her family in Nyon, Switzerland, and is bilingual. Her work is influenced both by the agricultural landscapes of Suisse Romande and a formal rigour learned from architectural studies with renowned architects Peter Eisenman and Frank Gehry at the Yale School of Architecture.
She first trained as a painter at Yale University where she earned a Bachelor of Art, and she also holds a Masters degree in Architecture from Yale. She worked in London for 9 years, where she designed the large public space “Exhibition Road” for Dixon Jones Architects.

Sarah Watson's paintings were exhibited in 2021 the Centre d'Art Contemporain Genève as part of the exhibition: Lemaniana: Reflections on other scenes, a collective exhibition celebrating the diversity of the contemporary artistic production in the Leman region. In autumn of 2022, she has a solo show at Atelier 011 gallery in Nyon.
