Born Sarah Rubinstein in Providence, RI, USA she now lives with her family in Nyon, Switzerland, and is fully bilingual. Her work is influenced both by the agricultural landscapes of Suisse Romande and a formal rigour learned from architectural studies with renowned architects Peter Eisenman and Frank Gehry at the Yale School of Architecture.
She first trained as a painter at Yale University where she earned a Bachelor of Art, and she also holds a Masters degree in Architecture from Yale. She worked in London for 9 years, where she designed the large public space “Exhibition Road” as well as other large Central London developments for Dixon Jones Architects.
Sarah Watson's work was recently exhibited at the Centre d'Art Contemporain Genève as part of the exhibition: Lemaniana: Reflections on other scenes, a collective exhibition celebrating the diversity of the contemporary artistic production in the Leman region.
