This exhibition explores the manifestations of anxiety within interior spaces. This oppressive emotion, often diffuse, can suddenly intrude into both the domestic and professional spheres. It arises when the tensions of the outside world cross our thresholds, disturbing the sense of security that we usually associate with our home. Eco-anxiety, in particular, has a destabilising intensity, as if organic elements of unknown strangeness were sneaking into our bedrooms and occupying our sleepless nights.

We typically consider domestic space a place of calm, protected from external threats. As for the workspace, it is generally perceived as a structured, rational and productivity-oriented environment. In this exhibition, artists Sarah Watson and Nadia Merzoug overturn these simple assumptions: in their creations, the interior becomes a place of anxiety, made strange.

As an extension of their respective worlds, Sarah Watson and Nadia Merzoug have created an immersive installation for this exhibition in collaboration with cabinetmaker David Marmilloud (Manivelle Ebénisterie). Together, they design a space that materializes the psychological and physical tensions of contemporary work environments. Taking the form of two open-plan offices, this installation evokes narrow workstations, devoid of comfort and customization. The visitor is invited to move through a deliberately constrained space, where the lack of privacy and spatial pressure are reminiscent of the impersonal world of modern offices.
